OUR STORY

It was always my dream to open a restaurant inspired by my grandmother’s cooking — and that dream came true with Barkat Bites in Raipur. My grandmother’s recipes were full of love, tradition, and warmth. Everyone in our family adored her homemade food. Even in her old age, she insisted on cooking because she knew how much we all cherished the flavors she created.

When she cooked, the aroma alone was enough to tell us that Amma was in the kitchen. In those days, people used to cook food in stock, which gave every dish a unique and rich taste. Every Sunday, when the whole family was home, she would prepare a special dinner, something she had been doing since she was just seven years old. Despite all the struggles in her life, her love and kindness always shone through her food.

Neighbors and friends would often ask, “What are you cooking, Amma? It smells so good!” And she would lovingly reply, “Come, join us for a meal.” Her generous spirit and delicious recipes are the heart of Barkat Bites, a restaurant in Raipur where we aim to bring the same warmth and flavor to every dish.
